NPLI Alumni in the News: Vice Admiral Scott A. Buschman

We’d like to offer congratulations to NPLI alumnus, Scott A. Buschman. He was recently promoted from Rear Admiral to Vice Admiral in the United States Coast Guard and assumed the position of Atlantic Area Commander. Previously, Buschman was the Deputy Commander of the Atlantic Area.

As part of NPLI Executive Education Program Cohort XI, Buschman was highly engaged in our meta-leadership framework and its application to his military service. At the time he was Commander of the Coast Guard Force Readiness Command. His culminating meta-leadership project involved an active shooter training scenario for an airport the size of Boston Logan International Airport. The group’s aim was to provide an organized and systematic way to respond to an active shooter through a scalable prevention and response toolkit. It’s certainly work that is extremely relevant today.

It’s great to see our alumni continue to grow as they move forward in their careers. A well-deserved congratulations is certainly in order for Vice Admiral Buschman. Thank you for your career of service to our country!
